Star Wars: Hunters, the free-to-play 4v4 arena shooter, will officially shut down on October 1, 2025, less than a year and a half after its global launch. Zynga and subsidiary NaturalMotion announced the decision, stating it “was not made lightly” while promising transparency throughout the game’s final months.
Final Set Of Updates and Timeline to Shutdown
The shutdown will follow this schedule:
- March 25, 2025: Season 5 extended by three weeks
- Events and shop bundles from the season will be re-run to give players additional opportunities to access previously released content
- Ranked season extended to give players more time to reach Kyber 1 rank, allowing more competitive players to achieve the highest ranking before the game concludes
- April 15, 2025: Final content update releases
- New Support Hunter character “Tuya” added and will be available to all players immediately at no cost
- In-game purchases disabled across all platforms (Switch, iOS, and Android)
- Additional in-game content included as part of this free update
- Final Ranked Mode leaderboard will continue running for players to compete in until shutdown
- All battlefields and game modes will remain in rotation through the final months
- October 1, 2025: Servers shut down permanently
- Game will no longer be playable after this date
- Online services will be completely discontinued
- The game will be accessible and available for download until this final day
The Brief Run of Star Wars: Hunters
Star Wars: Hunters initially soft-launched in select countries in 2021 before its global release on Nintendo Switch, iOS, and Android in June 2024. The game featured original characters from across the Star Wars universe competing in team-based arena battles.
The game will have been globally available for approximately 16 months when it shuts down, notably outlasting some similar titles in the genre that saw even shorter lifespans. For comparison, Specter Divide lasted only about six months before its shutdown announcement.

Zynga notes that any crystal purchases will not be refunded, as the 30-day notice is intended to give players sufficient time to spend their currency before in-game purchases are disabled on April 15. This information is stated in the FAQ section of the game’s website.
