From Broken Dishwasher to Web3 Pioneer How King Snooch is Filling A Gaming Void with GAM3 TALK Magazine

In a world where most gamers view blockchain with suspicion, King Snooch turned a broken appliance into a revelation that’s reshaping the Web3 gaming industry.

When his dishwasher broke, King Snooch didn’t reach for his credit card—he sold his gaming NFTs instead.

“Our dishwasher broke. I said, ‘Don’t you worry, I got you’ and sold off my Blankos that I had, made quite a bit of money, and we bought a nice stainless steel dishwasher,” he recalls. “That was the aha moment of ‘Holy crap. This web three thing is kind of cool as hell.'”

This kitchen emergency sparked his transformation from everyday gamer to influential Web3 voice. Today, King Snooch bridges worlds as community liaison for Dark Times, ambassador for Ascent Rivals, and co-founder of GAM3 TALK Magazine—a publication filling the void left by gaming icon Game Informer’s closure.

A Gamer’s Authentic Journey From Atari to NFTs

King Snooch isn’t a tech investor who discovered games—he’s a lifelong player with decades of controller experience.

“Have I been a gamer my whole life? Absolutely,” he says. “As far back as I can remember, sitting in the living room at my grandparents’ house playing an Atari—that was when I was little.”

This gaming foundation proved crucial for his Web3 credibility. After his Blankos success, he discovered The Red Village, where players create their own NFT characters.

“That was like crack cocaine for me,” he explains. “I got it. I can make my own. I can try different combinations. I can create them. I can blend these things together. I can make new NFTs.”

His genuine enthusiasm pulled him deeper into the community. He began streaming gameplay, organizing tournaments, and building relationships with developers. This organic involvement led to his role as community liaison for Dark Times, the expanded universe built by The Red Village team.

As liaison, King Snooch translates between players and developers—perfect for someone who understands both gamer frustrations and development challenges. This authentic approach has opened doors throughout the Web3 gaming ecosystem.

GAM3 TALK Magazine: Filling the Game Informer Void

When gaming journalism giant Game Informer announced its closure in early 2025 after nearly 35 years, the gaming world lost an institution. King Snooch spotted an opportunity.

Somebody should take the mantle up and do like a Web3 version of Game Informer

“Somebody should take the mantle up and do like a Web3 version of Game Informer,” he mentioned casually. When no one jumped at the idea, his response was simple: “Well, why don’t I do it?”

That comment evolved into GAM3 TALK Magazine, blending traditional gaming journalism with Web3 distribution. The process starts with Twitter Spaces interviews featuring developers and top players, which editor Bucha Berg transforms into polished articles.

What separates GAM3 TALK from traditional gaming media is its innovative distribution model. Instead of subscriptions, issues are available as NFTs costing about “six or seven bucks per magazine.” Readers who mint these NFTs gain access to a digital flipbook plus membership in a curated community of genuine gaming enthusiasts.

This creates a valuable connection between gamers and developers. “The projects that come talk about their game now have a curated gaming mailing list of real gamers interested in games,” King Snooch explains.

Most importantly, GAM3 TALK maintains strict editorial independence: “We will never take money from the games we bring on and will never advertise them in the ad spaces in our magazines.”

“We ask tough questions,” King Snooch insists. “It’s not just about all rainbows and sunshine.” This commitment to honest coverage builds reader trust while providing featured Web3 games exposure to genuine players.

Building Real Connections in a Digital World

While Web3 operates primarily online, King Snooch credits in-person events for his most valuable relationships. From his first NFT NYC experience meeting The Red Village developers to recent appearances at ETH Denver, these face-to-face connections have transformed his career.

“The connections at ETH Denver were the most invaluable part of the whole thing,” he says. “I got to meet friends that I haven’t met in person… and knowing them in the space, then getting to meet them IRL, it grows those bonds.”

These relationships consistently turn into concrete opportunities. His connection with Ascent Rivals began in a Twitter Space where he noticed genuine passion in a developer’s voice. After several calls, they clicked so well that the team made him a custom hoodie and invited him to stay in their content house during Dreamhack Atlanta.

This relationship has evolved into an ambassador role and an impressive upcoming collaboration. “We have grown so much that we now are going to have a content house at GDC, a big content house sponsored by MSI and Starforge computers,” he explains. “They’re hooking us up with eight gaming setup computers, laptops, keyboards, monitors, mouse, everything.”

Changing the Web3 Gaming Narrative

King Snooch’s most crucial mission is changing how traditional gamers perceive Web3. He recognizes the default skepticism: “As soon as they say crypto, they’re like, ‘Ah, it must be a scam.’ That’s the mentality.”

GAM3 TALK Magazine aims to break this perception by prioritizing gameplay over tokenomics. “The main focus of the magazine is all about the game,” he explains. “We talk about what the game is, what’s being developed. How do you play? It’s focused on a game—not really focused on how to make money and play-to-earn and the typical crypto narrative.”

This approach acknowledges a fundamental truth: “If you take Web3 out of your mind for a minute, and think about every gamer that you know, many of them spend money on games with no expectation of any ROI.”

By highlighting quality Web3 games without overemphasizing blockchain aspects, King Snooch serves as a trusted guide helping traditional gamers discover legitimate blockchain games.

GAM3 TALK plans to incorporate unique features like hidden Easter eggs in the magazine that unlock special in-game missions. Some partner games will offer exclusive GAM3 TALK-branded items to subscribers—creating value that resonates with gamers regardless of their interest in blockchain technology.

A Blueprint for Web3 Gaming’s Mainstream Future

As traditional gaming giants like Sony and Microsoft explore blockchain technology, community leaders like King Snooch provide crucial grassroots momentum. His journey from casual gamer to Web3 influencer demonstrates how authentic passion and community-building can accelerate adoption of emerging technologies.

By focusing on what makes games enjoyable rather than investment potential, he’s building bridges between traditional gaming culture and Web3 innovation. His approach suggests that mainstream acceptance will come through genuine connections and games worth playing—not buzzwords and token economics.
